To cope with the trauma and isolation, she kept singing, but her music shifted. The bright, hopeful tunes of her youth morphed into somber, haunting a cappella ballads that echoed the morale of a broken soldier. When her contract finally ended, she walked away, leaving her uniform and her faith in the system behind.

Without the structure of the military, Dani struggled to find a civilian purpose. Her formidable combat skills made her a prime target for underworld recruitment, leading her into the ranks of Crimson Dawn. During her time with the syndicate, she was forced into moral compromises that further darkened her worldview. Her signature look—the asymmetrical black tunic with the deep crimson lining—is a subtle nod to the blood on her ledger during this era.
